MASTER WARRANT OFFICER ROSS ATKINSON, CD

MWO AtkinsonMaster Warrant Officer Ross Atkinson CD was born in East York, Ontario in 1955. He joined The Royal Regiment of Canada in 1972 as a Private. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1979, to Warrant Officer in 1982, and promoted to Master Warrant Officer in 2003.

Master Warrant Officer Atkinson has held several positions within the Regiment that include Mobile Support Equipment Officer, Regimental Quarter Master Sergeant, Company Sergeant Major of Toronto, 58th, and Grenadier Company’s.

Master Warrant Officer Atkinson has been involved in several taskings outside the Regiment, they include, SovOPs to the Artic & Flyover Augmentation to Germany in 1974, Gamescan ( 1976 Olympics), 1 PPCLI Augmentation, CFB Calgary 1980-81, G4 Transport NCO Toronto Militia District HQ 1981-82. MWO Atkinson was also one of 5 members of the Regiment chosen to represent the Royals at Dieppe, France during the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the raid, where he participated over the 4 days of ceremonies as a member of the Flag Party.

MWO Atkinson is currently employed by the Regiment as the full time Operations & Training MWO. He has been married for 21 years to Ginette, and resides in the Town of Orangeville with their 3 children, Nicholas, Breanna, and Timothy.
