Changing of the Guard

Auditions

La Musique du Royal 22e Régiment is once again looking for musicians for the summer 2012 season of the Changing of the Guard at the citadel. It is currently open to reservists of SQFT area between the ranks of Pte and MWO. Names of those wishing to audition must be submitted by units NLT 10 Feb 2012.

Auditions will be held from 20 - 26 Feb 2011. A detailed audition schedule will be issued at a later date in consultaion with the units. The auditions will be held by a representative of the CO of the MR22R, and the final selection will be made by committee. A short interview will be held to clarify employment expectations, etc.

The audition will consist of:

a. two pieces (or selections thereof) in contrasting styles, candidate's choice, 3-4 min each

b. all major and minor (melodic and harmonic) scales, two octaves, various articulations

c. arpeggios: major, minor, dominant and diminished 7ths

d. sight reading.
