On Monday March 23rd, The 3rd Canadian Division Support Group (3 CDSG) Change of Command ceremony took place to mark the departure of outgoing Commander, Colonel Derek Macaulay and to welcome incoming Commander, Lieutentant-Colonel Robert Thompson.

The ceremony, held in the Elhorn Room at the Warrant’s and Sergeant’s Mess at the 3rd Canadian Division Support Base Edmonton, was attended by many spectators and honoured guests, including:

  •  the Honourable Laurie Hawn, Member of Parliament for Edmonton Centre
  • Major-General Christian Juneau, Deputy Commander Canadian Army  and
  • Brigadier-General Wayne Eyre, Commander 3rd Canadian Division.

In addition to the change of command, the ceremony included a number of Commander’s Commendation presentations to organizations who have been instrumental in enabling the success of 3 CDSG.

Following these presentations, Major-General Juneau addressed the audience and promoted Colonel Macaulay, with the help of his family, to the rank of Brigadier-General.
