1 CMBG hones warfighting skills on Ex IRON RAM

Wainwright, Alberta  — Much of 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (1 CMBG) descended on the Wainwright training area in mid-October to participate in Exercise IRON RAM (Ex IRON RAM). With nearly 2000 CAF members representing every 1 CMBG unit, as well as 1 Field Ambulance and 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron, Ex IRON RAM is 1 CMBG’s largest exercise of 2017.

Specifically, during Roto 0 of Op REASSURANCE, 3 PPCLI conducted multiple training exercises including but not limited to: Ex ORZEL ALERT (5-9 MAY), Ex SABER STRIKE ( 9-21 JUNE), Ex PEGASUS KORSARZ (23-27 JUNE), and Ex GNIEZNO (2-6 JULY) which all required 3 PPCLI to demonstrate their professionalism, interoperability, and flexibility while enhancing and building cohesion with our NATO partners.
