British Army Training Unit Suffield
The British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS) is the British army's premier training unit located at Canadian Forces Base Suffield. The role of BATUS is toprovide training and training support, principally to armoured forces, but also to other units as required.
A contingent of approximately 200 permanent staff ensure delivery of training to the exercise troops. The exercise season will normally run from the beginning of May through to the end of October and during this time, battlegroups arrive and are put through their paces on Exercise Medicine Man.

Defence Research and Development Canada
Defence R&D Canada (DRDC) is an agency of the Canadian Department of National Defence responding to the scientific and technological needs of the Canadian Forces. Its mission is to ensure that the CF remains scientifically and operationally relevant. The agency is made up of seven research centres located across Canada with a corporate office in Ottawa.
As the needs of DND have changed over the years, DRDC Suffield has remained a strategic defence resource. Many of the research and development activities at DRDC Suffield are unique. About half of the scientific effort at DRDC Suffield is directed to areas generally related to
military engineering, mobility systems and weapons system evaluation. The other half of the scientific activities encompasses activities related to
CB defence . Scientific and technological activities are supported by a full complement of services from meteorology, photography and field support, information services, facilities design and development, and materiel management.
