The Gagetown Fitness Centre is located in Building M-2. A major renovation/expansion of the facilities began in October 1999 and was completed in December 2000. Additions include a 200 metre indoor track, three squash courts and a wading pool with a water slide. Renovations were also done to the existing facilities. Those presently provided are:
Access to these facilities can be achieved by acquiring a Recreation Association pass for dependants or by paying a drop-in fee. Adjacent to the gymnasium are beautifully prepared jogging and cross-country ski trails.
Recreation Association passes may be purchased at the Building M-2 Monday through Friday 0800-1630 hours.
CFB Gagetown offers a number of recreation clubs and associations for the enjoyment of its military community. A listing is as follows:
In addition to the clubs listed above, the Recreation Association offers reduced entrance fees to various venues such as Provincial Parks, ski hills, Crystal Palace, hockey games and Kings Landing Historical Settlement. The gymnasium floor is restricted to military training during normal duty hours, Monday through Friday 0600-1800 hours. Evenings and weekends are open to casual use for Recreation Association members; non-members will be charged a drop-in fee. Activities include badminton, volleyball or basketball. Equipment for these activities may be signed out from the Duty Custodian. Schedules are available through the gymnasium.
The weight room is open to Recreation Association members who are 18 years or older from 0900-1100, 1300-1600, and 1800-2200 hours Monday through Friday and 1000-2200 hours on the weekend. The following equipment is available:
Red Cross learn to swim classes are held Saturdays, Sundays, and some weekdays during the fall, winter and spring. Lifesaving Society courses are offered periodically throughout the year depending on membership interest. Aquasize classes operate within the facility for association members. Information pertaining to pool activities can be obtained through the Aquatic Co-Ordinator located in Building M-2 at local 2438.
NOTE: Children under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times when utilizing the facility.

PLC Card: Personnel drawing equipment from Sport Stores for use outside the gymnasium for after duty hours require their Public Liability Card to be opened and stamped.

The Soldier's Arena operates from early September to April. Normal working hours Monday through Friday are allocated to various units at CFB Gagetown. Allocations are listed on the Arena schedule. Public skating is generally included in the Arena schedule. Public skating is free to Recreation Association members. Remaining ice time is assigned to CFB Gagetown leagues and minor hockey.
Operating schedules and timings are available from the Arena.

Golf Club: 18-hole course operates May to October. Memberships and green fees are available at very affordable rates.
Curling Club: Four sheets operate approximately October to April. Various leagues are available throughout the season.
The GAGE Golf and Curling Association is a new multi-purpose building that provides clubhouse facilities for golfers and curlers. The main floor features a licensed bar and snack counter. The lower level is used as an assembly room with its own licensed bar. These facilities may be booked for special events.

The Bowling Lanes are located in the Gagetown Fitness Centre, Building M-2, and consist of 6 lanes for 5-pin bowling. Various leagues run all winter long for all ages and groups. As well, there is time available for casual bowling. For more information call 357-8696.
Aerobic classes are available to all Recreation Association members who are 14 years or older. Classes are conducted both weekdays and weekends at various times. Please contact the Gagetown Fitness Centre for timings.
CFB Gagetown has created an intricate series of beautiful wooded trails which depart from behind the fitness complex and allow for you to get a little closer to nature as you exercise. One trail, approximately 1.75 kilometres in distance with six stations located throughout the trail offers both cardiopulmonary and muscular endurance training and is now lighted allowing for later evening activity. Seasonally there are trails available for runners, walkers, bikers and skiers to enjoy.
Also located at CFB Gagetown is our ski lodge, Lindsay Valley. This facility has eight different groomed Nordic ski trails and allows for easy access as equipment may be loaned from Sport Stores for a small rental fee. You may contact the lodge for ski conditions at local 2178 or information on bookings for Lindsay Valley may be arranged through the the Recreation Centre at local 2660.
