Medical Services

The Base Medical Clinic (BMC), located in Building A-47, has a 3600 square foot facility with six in-patient beds and a well-equipped emergency department. Other medical services that are provided include: X-ray, laboratory, pharmacy, physiotherapy and mental health services. The BMC is open for business from 0730-1630 hours during regular duty hours. After normal working hours, weekends and statutory holidays, the BMC is closed. Personnel requiring medical attention should report to the nearest civilian medical facilities.

While true medical emergencies will be seen at any time, routine medical appointments during regular duty hours will be booked by calling local 2972. Those without appointments who feel that they require urgent medical attention should report between 0730-1000 hours.

Civilian medical facilities in the local area include the Oromocto Public Hospital (Note: no emergency services from 2200-0800 hours daily), the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton and the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Ambulance services for CFB Gagetown are coordinated through 911 on a 24-hour basis. This system includes ambulance services for CFB Gagetown and off Base, such as the PMQs, etc.
