Dental Services

The Dental Clinic is located in Building A-47. Dental treatment is provided by 1 Dental Unit Detachment Gagetown, which is a lodger unit under the control of 1 Dental Unit Ottawa.

Clinic operating hours are: Monday to Friday from 0730 to 1200 hours and 1300 to 1600 hours. Sick parade is held Monday to Friday at 0730 hours.

Emergency treatment for relief of pain is available anytime. After hours, emergency treatment is available by contacting the duty dental officer at pager # 451-7372. If there is no response within 15 minutes, the duty dental assistant can be contacted at pager 451-7371. If there is no answer, contact the CFB Gagetown Duty Officer at local 1491 or pager # 457-5207.

Comprehensive dental treatment is provided by dental officers and auxiliaries whose purpose is to deliver the best possible service to our patients. Some specialist services are available at the Dental Clinic while other appointments may be referred to 1 Dental Unit Detachment Halifax.

The detachment also has two MLVW Mobile Dental Clinics available for treatment of units deployed to the field as required.

Dependants of military members are not treated at the military Dental Clinic; however, ample civilian services are available both in Oromocto and Fredericton. Most local Dentists are familiar with the CF Dependants Dental Care Program. Claim forms are available from unit Orderly Rooms.
