Base Chapels

St. Luke's Chapel

An ecumenical community gathers at St. Luke's Chapel (Protestant) weekly for worship and fellowship.

Service

1030 hours Sunday (Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month).

Sunday School/Nursery

1030 hours at the Chapel (September to June).

Baptism and Marriage

Arranged by appointment with a Chaplain. Minimum notice is three months. Instruction is required.

Chapel Guild

Call local 4200 for information.

Worship Group

Friday evenings at 1830-1930 hrs

Men's Breakfast

Meets once a month at a local restaurant.

St. Luke's Thrift Shop

St. Luke's Thrift Shop, located in the PMQ area on Iroquois Street, is operated by the St. Luke's congregation and aided by volunteers from the community. It has been in operation for over twenty years and serves a vital need in the community.

The Thrift Shop carries a wide variety of good quality men's, ladies' and children's clothing as well as small household items all reasonably priced. Some items are sold on consignment for customers and donations are also accepted.

Profits from the Thrift Shop go to the Chapel's wider and local mission projects.

St. Mary's Chapel

St. Mary's Chapel, located in Building G-1, serves the needs of Roman Catholic CFB Gagetown personnel and their dependants in both official languages.

Mass

1000 hours Sunday - in French
1115 hours Sunday - in English

Children's Liturgy

During all Sunday Masses.

Confession

Upon request.

Baptism

All parents wishing to have children baptised are requested to contact the Chapel Office for further details.

Marriage

Advance notice of six to twelve months is required. Attendance at a marriage preparation course is necessary. Call the Chapel for details.

Religious Education

Since religion is not taught in the New Brunswick school system, St. Mary's offers a catechism program for children Kindergarten to Grade 6. Parents wanting their children to receive the sacraments of initiation (First Communion, Confession and Confirmation) should also enrol their children in the parish Sunday School. Registration takes place in September. Call the Chapel for details.
