Supply Company

CFB Gagetown is the home of Land Force Command's largest Supply Company. 3 ASG Supply Company is responsible to provide support to sections of 3 ASG and CTC, as well as all Regular Force, Reserve and Cadet units located throughout the Provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. The increased use of the local training facilities by visiting Canadian and foreign units has added to the challenge of our support role. The staff of 150 military and civilian personnel procures, receives, warehouses, issues, backloads or disposes of close to 100,000 line items and 30,000 tons of ammunition and salvage annually. In addition, the Customer Services Section serves as the 3 ASG Centre of Excellence for all procurement related activity in addition to providing supply advice to units. Supply Company is composed of four major platoons and one section. They are:

  1. Administration/Headquarters Platoon - Consisting of the HQ Group, Orderly Room, Company Sergeant-Major, Training Cell and Stocktaking Sections;
  2. Customer Services Platoon - This platoon, which is sub-divided into cells, is the customer's first and principal point of contact with Supply Company. The cell to which a specific customer is assigned is responsible for providing procurement assistance, account coordination and a variety of other customer assistance functions;
  3. Materiel Control Platoon - The platoon handles all second-line general and technical stores, major equipment (vehicles, etc), repair parts, hard rations, POL and industrial gases and clothing. Services performed by the platoon include repair and disposal (including the disposal of HAZMAT), vehicle kitting, tailoring and the full range of non-technical workshop services. The MSA provides the stores to support field training and deployments;
  4. Ammunition Platoon - CFB Gagetown is the largest user of ammunition in the Canadian Forces. The Ammunition Platoon is located approximately 10 kilometres from the main garrison and is equipped to handle requirements ranging from small arms ammunition to artillery ammunition, TOW and Blowpipe missiles. In addition, the Platoon Commander is responsible for the Ammunition Explosive Safety Program; and
  5. Business Plans and Print Shop Section - consists of three cells, Operations, Financial Management and Print Shop operations. The section is responsible for the coordination of Supply Company support to all operations and staff assistance visits to CFB Gagetown dependencies. As well, the section develops annually the Company Activity. These various platoons enable Supply Company to meet the needs of CFB Gagetown and visiting units and provide them with the necessary support to train World Class Soldiers. The Print Shop is located in Building J-7, Room E-129, and provides a variety of printing services to CFB Gagetown units, Military Family Resource Centre and Cadet organizations within the area.
