3 ASG Engineer Branch is established to design, construct and maintain works and buildings, to operate utility plants, to provide fire and crash protection, and to provide management of real property, utilities and municipal services. The environment cell within 3 ASG Engineers provides environmental advice and assistance to all units at CFB Gagetown. As well, the utility function also includes the provision of water and sewage services to the Town of Oromocto.
To accomplish these many and other varied tasks, Construction Engineering Company, one of the largest in Canada, has a permanent establishment of 16 military and 213 civilian personnel. In addition, up to 120 civilian term employees are hired for special projects and seasonal work throughout the year.
The vast inventory of facilities maintained by Construction Engineering Company includes 740 buildings in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, 17 satellite sites, 6 ranges/training areas, 250 kilometres of water and sewer lines, 115 kilometres of power lines, 50 bridges and major culverts, and 675 kilometres of roads.
