Commander's Welcome

Welcome to CFB Gagetown, home of the Army's Combat Training Centre (CTC), a formation dedicated to training professional combat soldiers and leaders within a framework of combined arms operations for service in units across the Army. The Army Training Schools include the Tactics, Armour, Artillery and Infantry schools. Other major training units found within the camp include the Land Force Atlantic Area Training Centre responsible for Area-specific Army training, Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering, with a mandate to train engineers for service across the Canadian Forces, and 403 Helicopter Operational Training Squadron, which is responsible to train all CH146 pilots and flight engineers for the Canadian Forces. All of this training is achieved in a safe, healthy and realistic training environment employing expert instructors and effective simulation.

CFB Gagetown is also home to 4 Air Defence Regiment, 4 Engineer Support Regiment and the Second Battalion of The Royal Canadian Regiment - Army field force units that serve their country at home and abroad with pride and distinction.

The provision of support to training and other elements in our geographical area is assured by the highly motivated military and civilian team of 3 Area Support Group, committed to quality service standards.

This booklet has been designed to provide you with a historical background as well as a description of the current role and organization of CFB Gagetown. In it you will find pertinent information in both official languages dealing with the many services offered, and an outline of the various units and schools stationed within the CFB Gagetown area of responsibility. You will also be introduced to the excellent local facilities and the wide spectrum of social and recreational activities available for your enjoyment in the area.

We are proud of our unique relationship with the Town of Oromocto. Military and local civilian personnel are actively involved in municipal government and committees contributing to a harmonious and co-operative atmosphere within the community.
