Military Police
The Military Police Platoon is located at 11 Craftsman Blvd (Bldg
A-28), CFB/ASU Kingston. It is currently comprised of 32 MP’s and 8
Commissionaires offering 24/7 services. Services provided include: Military and
Civilian Law Enforcement Services, Investigative Services, Physical and
Automated Data Processing Security, Community Related projects, Identification
Services and the Base Duty Center. An arrangement for the Long-term storage of
personal vehicles and recreational vehicles is available five days a week during
normal working hours.

Other services provided by or run in co-operation with the Military Police
Platoon are: Ident-a-Child Program, Drug and Alcohol Resistance and Education
(D.A.R.E.) Program, Operation Identification, Sky Is the Limit Festival and the
Law Enforcement Torch Run.
BASE DUTY CENTER
The Base Duty Center is a 24/7 operation manned by Commissionaires at the
Military Police Platoon. The Duty Center handles room lockouts and
accommodations after normal working hours along with weekends and holidays. All
personnel reporting in can pick up their room keys and meal cards at the Duty
Center.
CFB/ASU KINGSTON'S RECREATIONAL VEHICLE STORAGE COMPOUND
CFB/ASU Kingston personnel wishing to store their boats, trailers, campers or
their personal vehicles in the compound located at 14 Red Patch Ave, may do so
for $48.00 per year for military personnel. The compound has approximately 170
allocated spaces, which are well lit, fenced and well secured. However, all
vehicles must be in good operating condition and personnel are reminded that
adequate insurance coverage must be carried on the vehicles being stored.
Storage space will be issued during normal working hours by contacting the Ident
Svcs at ext 5693.
VEHICLE REGULATIONS
CFB/ASU Kingston employs an open base concept. All CF/DND personnel are
recommended to register their privately owned motor vehicle(s) with the Military
Police in order to receive a base vehicle sticker. Personnel posted in, from
out-of-province, are required by law to obtain an Ontario drivers license within
7 days of their arrival and Ontario license plates for their vehicles within 30
days of arrival. Before purchasing license plates for your vehicle, a
certificate of mechanical fitness provided by a local garage and proof of valid
liability insurance for the vehicle are required.
SPEED LIMITS AT CFB/ASU KINGSTON
The Military Police wish to stress the importance of the speed limits on the
Base:
McNaughton Barracks: 50 km/h unless otherwise posted
Vimy Barracks: 30 km/h unless otherwise posted
Fort Frontenac: 8 km/h
PARKING
Parking within the Base boundaries is restricted to those areas designated for
parking. Parking in a non-designated area will result in the offender being
issued a Traffic Violation Ticket ($25.00), which will be processed through the
local Provincial Court. Routine and Base Standing Order 6.01 will list
additional regulations and areas of restricted parking including the snow
removal period from 15 Dec to 15 Mar.
DERELICT VEHICLES
Unlicensed, derelict and/or abandoned vehicles at CFB/ASU Kingston are
prohibited. Failure to comply with this order will result in the vehicles being
towed away at the owner's expense.
PRIVATELY OWNED FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION
Residents of Private Married Quarters (PMQ) and the Trailer Park, at CFB/ASU
Kingston, must register all privately owned firearms, ammunition, pellet
rifles/guns, air guns, cross bows and long bows at the Military Police
Platoon. You are also responsible for registering all firearms with the
Federal weapons Registry. Possession of privately owned firearms and ammunition
in single quarters is strictly forbidden. Personnel living at CFB/ASU Kingston
are encouraged to store their weapons and ammunition at the MP Det CFB/ASU
Kingston. All residents are advised to make themselves familiar with Base
Standing Order 6.03 regarding firearms and ammunition regulations.
