Colonel J.D.E. Crosman, CD / Director — Land Concepts and DesignsColonel John Crosman was raised on military bases throughout Canada and Europe, and calls Chilliwack, British Columbia home.  He holds a bachelor's degree from the Royal Military College of Canada and a master’s degree from King’s College, London.

Colonel Crosman enrolled in Canada's Army in 1977 and passed his first regimental tour with the 2nd Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery in Petawawa, Ontario.  Following his initial tour with the 2nd Regiment, he was appointed to several staff positions in the Special Service Force Headquarters and Land Force Command Headquarters.  Before returning to the 2nd Regiment as the Adjutant in 1988, he attended the year long Artillery Instructor-in-Gunnery Course and the Canadian Land Command Forces and Staff Course and served as an Instructor-in-Gunnery at the Royal Canadian Artillery School.

After serving as the Adjutant of 2nd Regiment, Colonel Crosman was appointed to the position of Battery Commander, A Battery, with the 1st Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery in Lahr, West Germany.  He then served with the British Army in the United Kingdom, where he instructed at the Royal School of Artillery in Larkhill and attended the Army Command and Staff Course at Shrivenham and Camberley.  Colonel Crosman returned to Canada in 1997 and served in Kingston, Ontario as G3 Operations of the 1st Canadian Division Headquarters, as Director of the Army Simulation Centre, as G3 of Land Force Doctrine and Training System, and as Director of Army Training (Future Concepts).

Colonel Crosman returned to Petawawa in 2000 as the Commanding Officer of the 2nd Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery.  During his tenure as Commanding Officer, he also commanded the Offensive Strike Group on operations in Bosnia with the Multi-National Division (South West).  Colonel Crosman commanded the Royal Canadian Artillery School in Gagetown, New Brunswick from 2002 to 2004.

Upon promotion to Colonel, he was appointed to the position of Vice President of the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre.  He then served as the Assistant Chief of Staff Plans in Joint Task Force Pacific Headquarters in Victoria, British Columbia.  Colonel Crosman now holds the position of Director of Land Concepts and Designs.  The Directorate is located in Kingston, Ontario.
