Battle School

The 32 CBG Battle School is a battalion-size organization which staffs and runs all of the brigade's individual training courses. A small full-time headquarters commands four companies staffed by part-time leaders, administrators and instructors, all of them tasked to the BSL by regiments of the brigade. The courses themselves are run in armouries across the GTA and Southern Ontario. The largest subunit is Basic Skills Company, which manages courses for nearly 400 recruits a year. Advanced Skills Company manages courses for more experienced soldiers in such things as crew-served weapons, mountain warfare and junior leadership. Co-op Company manages the recruit courses run in co-operation with area high schools. The Advanced Warfare Training Team, suspended while we await the completion of a new training facility in Downsview, specialized in operations in urban environments.
